AUSTRALIA has announced its squad for next month’s T20 World Cup, with squad continuity a big talking point.
Darcie Brown has recovered from the foot injury that have kept her out of Australia’s tour to Bangladesh to be named in the World Cup squad.
Unfortunately for Jess Jonassen this means no spot for her again and continues her run of missing out on selection.
This squad reveal is also big news for Victorian pair Tayla Vlaeminck and Sophie Molineux, who will be playing in an ICC tournament for the first time since 2018 and 2020 respectively after some hard years recently because of injury.
The World Cup squad will warm up for the tournament with a three match T20 series against New Zealand in Brisbane and Mackay, but will also be joined for that series by Heather Graham.
Australia was supposed to play Sri Lanka in its opening match of the World Cup, but the ICC has not confirmed the updated schedule after the tournament was moved from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates last week because of security concerns.
