Bancroft fails AGAIN as horror summer continues

Cam Bancroft has made a duck in a crucial Test audition for Australia A, landing the biggest dent yet in his hopes of a recall to the team.

Bancroft faced 14 balls before he was dismissed, caught behind off Prasidh Krishna in a clash with India A in McKay.

The West Australian feathered a ball heading towards his arm-pit down the leg-side to the wicket-keeper, continuing a horror run of form to start the season.

However, it appears he may have been hard done by with replays indicating the ball came off his body, not the gloves.

He has not passed double figures from three first-class matches and has now made three ducks.

The 31-year-old had survived a massive call for caught-behind already in his innings.

Bancroft batted at No.3, with selectors handing the first opportunity to veteran Marcus Harris and New South Wales teen sensation Sam Konstas, who was also caught behind for a duck.

Konstas edged a ball from Mukesh Kumar to wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan and was dismissed in the opening over having been backed into open in the crucial audition for the Test team.

Australia A won the toss and bowled first, but rolled India A for 107 in just over three hours of cricket.

It comes after the New South Wales 19-year-old scored dual centuries in the Blues’ first match of the season to rocket into Test calculations.
