Munich. This week marks the beginning of the 2025
Race to Dubai on the DP World Tour with the BMW Australian PGA
Championship which will be held from November
21-25 at the Royal Queensland Golf Club
(Brisbane, AUS). The premiere of this high-profile tournament,
featuring BMW as the title partner, also kicks off the new BMW
Golfsport season, which includes numerous outstanding events across
four continents.
The BMW Australian PGA Championship, one of the most significant
events in the Australian sports calendar, will be played on the same
course that will also be the venue for the golf competitions at the
2032 Olympic Games. Local hero Min Woo Lee, currently number 48 in the
world, will defend his title against fellow countrymen and major
winners Geoff Ogilvy and Cameron Smith, among others.
From Australia, the BMW Golfsport journey continues to Asia,
specifically to the Thai capital of Bangkok. There could be no better
host nation than the “Land of Smiles”: those who have qualified for
the BMW Golf Cup World Final will be beaming with
joy as they experience a unique golf week. The climax of the world’s
largest international tournament series for amateur golfers will be
played from March 2-7, 2025, at the Alpine
Golf Club and is an exclusive once-in-a-lifetime event both
on and off the fairways.
In addition to the BMW Australian PGA Championship, two other iconic
tournaments with BMW in the name enrich the DP World Tour calendar.
For the 36th time, the premium car manufacturer will host
the BMW International Open in its hometown of
Munich. Germany’s most prestigious tournament will take place from
July 2-6, 2025, at Golfclub München Eichenried.
The Wentworth Club near London will be the
traditional venue for the “Festival of Golf”, the BMW PGA
Championship, from September 9-14, 2025. The
flagship event of the DP World Tour will once again be a crowd-puller
in the new season with a world-class field and the unique supporting
programme – from the Celebrity Pro-Am filled with stars from sports
and show business to the live concerts on the weekend.
BMW is also the title partner of an outstanding tournament on the PGA
TOUR, the BMW Championship. Only the top 50 players
in the FedExCup rankings qualify for the second of three playoff
events, making it one of the most competitive in the world. For the
second time after 2021, this golf sport highlight will be held from
August 12-17, 2025, at the Caves Valley
Golf Club in Owings Mills, northwest of Baltimore (USA).
