A man and woman have been found dead inside a shop in Sydney’s west, in what police have described as a “confronting” scene.
The bodies of the pair, believed to be aged in their 70s, were found inside a burger shop on Oxford St in Cambridge Park about 9.40am.
NSW Police were called to the shop following an alleged assault.

The bodies were found by a family member, Acting Superintendent Michael Cantrell said.
The man and woman have not been formally identified at this stage.
“A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad,” NSW Police said.
Investigators do not have any suspects at this point and have “many lines of inquiry”, Cantrell said.
“All motives are being considered at this point in time,” he said. “(But) we have no intelligence to suggest that there’s any further threat.”
Cantrell confirmed police are aware there is footage circulating that may be linked to the incident, but said they have not confirmed it is related.
Anyone with relevant information about the incident is urged to contact police.
