PEOPLE looking to top up their bank accounts in the lead-up to Christmas can do so by signing up for casual work with Australia Post.
Australia Post is recruiting 3000 seasonal casuals around the country as it ramps up pre-Christmas operations.
It is specifically looking for forklift operators, van and truck drivers, freight handlers and parcel sorters to fill roles across the delivery network.
Jobs are available throughout the country but the highest demand is in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The organisation’s people and culture executive general manager, Sue Davies, highlighted the critical role that seasonal casuals play in helping Australia Post ensure deliveries reach their destinations in time for the holiday period.
“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post,” Ms Davies said.
“Last year we delivered almost 100 million parcels in the leadup to Christmas, thanks to the help of our seasonal casuals who worked alongside our existing team members.
“We’d love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck licence, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling.
“Joining our team not only provides the opportunity to be a part of a supportive and dynamic environment but also allows you to earn extra money and to spread the merry this Christmas.
“Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year. We have many team members who started as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.”
