Cavalera, the metal behemoth founded by Max and Iggor Cavalera, return to Australian shores in 2025 with a national tour.
The duo behind thrash metal act Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy are now going by the moniker Cavalera. The reason for the name change is so the brothers could re-record their early Sepultura records – Morbid Visions, Bestial Devastation and Schizophrenia – with a new intensity for modern audiences to consume.
Comprising Max (vocals and guitar) and Iggor (drums) alongside touring musicians Igor Amadeus Cavalera (bass) and Travis Stone (lead guitar), Cavalera’s Third World Trilogy tour will see the band perform tracks from the first three Sepultura albums along with more recent material from Cavalera Conspiracy/Cavalera.
Cavalera kick things off at Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Friday, January 17 and follow this with gigs at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Saturday, January 18, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Sunday, January 19 and Hobart’s The Odeon Theatre on Wednesday, January 22. The final two dates of the Third World Trilogy tour take place at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday, January 23 and Fremantle’s Metropolis on Friday, January 24.
Joining Cavalera on all six shows is Melbourne’s rising death metal brutes Algor Mortis, whose 2024 Stages of Death EP saw them signed to US label Maggot Stomp.
Early bird pre-sale begins on Thursday, October 31 at 9:30am local time. Register for access here. General on-sale commences on Friday, November 1 at 11:30am via Destroy All Lines.
