Childish Gambino returning to Aus on world tour – triple j

Get out of your sweatpants, the ever-talented Childish Gambino is headed back down under for the first time in nearly six years with his incoming tour.

Now *this* is a man who understands the concept of “world tour”.

He’s just delivered a full release of his lockdown-era album ATAVISTA (with two brand new tracks), unleashed a cinematic new music video and confirmed a whole new record is on the way this year.

Now he’s backed up that huge news for all of us night owls with the exciting confirmation that he’ll be bringing The New World Tour to Australia and New Zealand early next year.

The New World Tour is locked in to land in our pocket of the planet in Auckland on January 28, before he jumps across the ditch for a full whip around the capitals in February.

Joining Childish Gambino on this sizzling summer sojourn is Ghanian-American singer-songwriter Amaarae, who will be here for her first major Australian tour.

Now for the important part. Tickets for Gambino’s big return are on sale at staggered times on Monday 20 May, with a couple of cheeky presales happening later this week. Check out the tour’s website for everything you need to know (and all the key info to report back to the group chat).

Check out all the dates and details below and we’ll see you freaks and geeks there.
