Greg Norman has called out the PGA of Australia on social media for not using the words “LIV Golf” or “Ripper GC” for the second week in a row in posts congratulating Cameron Smith and his all-Australian squad on consecutive teams victories.
Smith’s Ripper GC, which includes Marc Leishman, Lucas Herbert and Matt Jones, won the teams vertical of LIV Golf Singapore. The victory came fresh off their triumph in a playoff at LIV Adelaide. In Singapore, Smith and Leishman tied second behing winner Brooks Koepka.
On social media, the PGA of Australia celebrated the win for the Ripper crew, albeit with the caption “These guys are on a roll. Well played, Cam, Marc, Matt and Lucas. Singapore teams title. Cam and Leish T2 (individual tournament leaderboard).”
Former wold No.1 and Australian Norman, the LIV Golf commissioner, noticed the omission.
“C’mon PGA of Australia, you can mention Ripper GC and LIV Golf. The boys/LIV have changed golf down under,” Norman replied on Facebook.
It comes a week after social media users noticed the absence of the league’s name from a post congratulating Ripper GC on their LIV Adelaide win. One user asked if it was a big deal to mention “those three letters”.
