“Suncorp Stadium holds incredible memories for Australian football and to revisit a city and stadium that was central to such an historic night for Australian football will be special. We acknowledge and are grateful for the support of the Queensland Government in establishing a permanent commemoration of a tournament that unified the nation in unique way.

“Following the Subway Socceroos Round Three AFC Asian Qualifiers™ at Cbus Super Stadium earlier this month, we are also looking forward to being back on the Gold Coast, this time with the women’s national team with thanks to Experience Gold Coast. With several current CommBank Matildas born or raised in the region, it will be a special homecoming for them and reflects our commitment to continue showcasing the team across the country.

“The host of the next FIFA Women’s World Cup™, Brazil is a quality side who will provide a fantastic challenge for our team as we embark on our next four-year journey with the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™, FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ and LA 2028™ Olympic Games on the horizon.”

“Suncorp Stadium will always hold pride of place for hosting Australia’s greatest ever performance at a senior football World Cup, and one of the nation’s most memorable sporting moments, when the Matildas beat France in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™.

“I know that Queensland football fans are champing at the bit to see the team in action again, both at Suncorp Stadium and at Cbus Super Stadium, particularly against such a highly rated opposition like Brazil.”
