Cyndi Lauper drops huge news for Aussie fans

There’s plenty of entertainment news around this morning and when it rains, it pours.

Cyndi Lauper has announced she’s bringing her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell World Tour to our shores – it kicks off in Montreal next week, then the US and the UK.

Cyndi will be here in April, playing arena shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide and Perth, with The Veronicas as special guests at all the Australian shows and those tickets go on sale next Wednesday at Ticketek.

Also heading our way, the great Cliff Richard has announced his Australian tour dates.

He’ll be here for the Summer Holiday World Tour from November 1 next year and that will be 11 years since he last performed here.

Those tickets go on sale this Friday.

And Olivia Rodrigo is in the country right now, she had quite a moment last night plummeting right through a hole on stage while performing in front of thousands of fans during her final show in Melbourne.

Ever the professional, she didn’t seem to be hurt and got on with the show – laughing it off.

Hugh Jackman may be the Greatest Showman, but now he has a showwoman counterpart in Kate Hudson.

The duo will be starring in a new movie musical Song Sung Blue, playing a couple who form a Neil Diamond tribute band.

That’s kind of cool premise I reckon, there’s no other details or release date just yet.

Speaking of Hugh, he and Ryan Reynolds are currently being considered to host the Oscars next year.

Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have also been approached to host, but best mates Ryan and Hugh are among the top choices and would be fabulous, I reckon.

Hugh last hosted the Oscars back in 2009.
