Access solutions company Grifco has outgrown its old site, moving to a new factory at Somersby (pictured) with triple the production capacity.
According to a statement from parent company Chamberlain Group on Wednesday, the new 19,000 square metre purpose-built facility puts Chamberlain’s NSW manufacturing, warehousing, and engineering staff all under the same roof for the first time.
Chamberlain said it expected the site to “boost local employment by 10 per cent in the coming months”.
“For 110 years, Grifco has been keeping the doors of Australian businesses open,” said Grant Emanuel, Chamberlain Group ANZ Vice President and Managing Director.
“Our move to this brand new space represents the next phase of growth for the company, while continuing our decades long legacy of manufacturing commercial access solutions on the Central Coast.”
Grifco was founded in 1914 and has been a part of Chamberlain since 2006. It was previously located at West Gosford.
Chamberlain Group ANZ’s Director of Operations and IT, Graeme Sheekey, added, “From the local car park to fire and ambulance stations, to Optus Stadium and the flag on the Anzac bridge, you can find a Grifco – and we’re proud to continue to support the needs of ANZ businesses.”
The new headquarters were developed by Space Urban and constructed by Crossmuller (both part of Kariong-based BORG Group.)
The release lists sustainability features including a 200 kilowatt solar PV array, on-site water tanks, and EV chargers.
