Football South Australia on behalf of the entire Football Family in the state welcomed the announcement of Round 1 projects and programs as part of the Power of Her Infrastructure and Participation Program. The announcement was made on Saturday 29 June by with the Minister for Recreation Sport and Racing, Hon Katrine Hildyard MP. The Malinauskas Government made the grant program possible following the highly successful Women’s World Cup held in Australia in 2023.

A total of $1.45 million will be invested in Football Facilities, equipment and programs supporting the continued growth of Women and Girls Football in the State.

CEO Michael Carter welcomed the announcement of successful projects, “There are some fantastic projects being funded in Round 1 of the 3 Round Grant Program. We are very pleased to see three projects being directed to regional South Australia, and this backs our plan to improve the pathway for players, competitions, and facilities in our expanding regional areas.”

Shane Dycer, President of Gambier Centrals was very pleased to hear about the funding for the replacement of lights globes at their home, in Mount Gambier.

“Replacing our lights will mean we have the ability to host matches under lights. The funding will place girls in the spotlight and away from clashing with traditional sports such as Netball. As a club, we are under so much pressure from our growing base of players to improve our venue. A synthetic pitch is the next big project we are going to go after.”

The Power of Her Infrastructure and Participation Program will see the following projects funded.
