Finalists announced for Australia’s Horse of the Year 2023-24

Australia’s best gallopers of the 2023-24 season will be celebrated at Morphettville next week as Racing Australia and Racing South Australia unveil the finalists for the prestigious Horse of the Year awards. Eight champions will be crowned across various categories.

Nominees for Australian Horse of the Year include Imperatriz, Mr Brightside, Pride Of Jenni, Riff Rocket, and Without A Fight, all boasting multiple Group 1 victories and impressive prizemoney.

Racing SA CEO Vaughn Lynch expressed excitement about hosting the event, saying, “The quality of the nominations across all categories highlights the fantastic performances achieved during the season.”

Among other confirmed winners, Chris Waller is named G1 Trainer of the Year, James McDonald takes G1 Jockey of the Year, and I Am Invincible is crowned Champion Sire.

The ceremony will also honor champions in categories like Champion 2YO, Champion Sprinter, and Champion Stayer, showcasing the elite talent in Australian racing.
