On Thursday, the golfer with the swashbuckling nickname made waves on Golf Reddit thanks to this video of him playing a hazardous recovery shot from the edge of a water hazard with a giant gator sleeping just feet away. Apparently, Captain Mike forgot how Captain Hook lost his hand.

Anyway, we don’t have to tell you not to try this at home. Alligators are animals, just like people. Sometimes they wake up on the wrong side of the swamp. The difference is that when gators are having a bad day, they don’t start sh*t with trolls on Twitter. They rip your leg off. Safe to say nobody would have blamed The Captain for taking a drop, but thankfully he raised the sails and got out of there quickly with his round, and limbs, intact.
