25th November 2024 – (Sydney) Chinese home appliances and consumer electronics manufacturer Haier has announced its role as the official TV and appliance partner for the Australian Open and Summer of Tennis events, following a ceremony in Melbourne on Monday.

The three-year partnership with the Australian Open, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, aims to showcase Haier’s advanced smart home innovations, according to a company statement.

Li Huagang, senior vice president of Haier Group and chairman and CEO of Haier Smart Home, noted that this collaboration represents a significant milestone in Haier’s global expansion efforts, underscoring the company’s commitment to sports and innovation.

Craig Tiley, CEO of Tennis Australia, remarked that the partnership will enhance the fan experience and introduce innovative technology, adding a vibrant and dynamic element to the summer of tennis. “Haier’s dedication to innovation and quality aligns perfectly with the values of our sport and events,” Tiley stated.

Additionally, Haier plans to support grassroots tennis clubs across Australia as part of its initiative to encourage greater participation in the sport.
