Australian star Travis Head is the latest high-profile name to sign with Cricket NSW high-performance partner, Washington Freedom.
The second season of Major League Cricket (MLC) in set to begin later this year in the United States, with Head to be joined by Australian teammate Steve Smith, as well as New Zealand star Rachin Ravindra and Freedom head coach Ricky Ponting.
Head, who is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, produced a stunning 39-ball century overnight – the fourth fastest in IPL history – guiding his side to victory.
Cricket NSW is the high-performance partner of the Freedom and is responsible for player contracting and management and implementing a top-class coaching team and other high-performance roles, including sports science and sports medicine, performance analysis and team operations.
The second season of Major League Cricket is due to kick off in July.
