It’s a race to the finish as there’s a tight leaderboard at the Portland Classic, the last event before the LPGA takes a week off for the women’s competition for the Olympics at Le Golf National outside Paris.
And there are plenty of low scores too.
Dewi Weber shot a second-round 62. Polly Mack and Andrea Lee have both shot 63s this week. There have been eight 64s. You get the point.
Everyone is playing for the $1.75 million purse with the winner taking home $262,500 for her victory at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
Last year, teen Chanettee Wannasaen played a five-hole stretch in six under par early in the final round and shot 63 to become the first Monday qualifier to win an LPGA event since 2015.
