How to watch French Open in Australia: TV channel, free-to-air guide for Roland-Garros

The 2024 edition of the French Open will be broadcast live and free on 9Gem.

Coverage will begin most days at 6:30 pm AEST and run through until approximately 4:30 am AEST.

Commentary for select matches will come from Nine’s Wide World of Sports team, featuring Todd Woodbridge, Jelena Dokic, Samantha Stosur and Brenton Speed.

Every match of Roland-Garros 2024 can be streamed live and on-demand in Australia via Stan Sport.

Matches from four courts – Court Philippe Chatrier, Court Suzanne Lenglen, Court Simonne Mathieu and Court 1 – will be available to watch in 4K. 

Fans can also stream the action for free via 9Now, which will show the standard free-to-air broadcast.

When is Roland-Garros? Start date, schedule for French Open 2024

The Roland-Garros main draw will begin on Sunday, May 26 and finish on Sunday, June 9 – the day of the men’s singles final.

The adjusted 15-day schedule – which sees the tournament start a day earlier – was used at the Australian Open earlier this year.

De Minaur is the highest-ranked of a nine-player men’s contingent, while just two Aussies will feature on the women’s side.

Rafael Nadal vs. Alexander Zverev: How to watch Roland-Garros first round blockbuster

The first round of the French Open men’s singles draw will be headlined by a monster clash between 14-time Roland-Garros champion Rafael Nadal and world No. 4 Alexander Zverev.

A time is yet to be confirmed for the match, but it will take place on Monday, May 27.

It will be available to stream live and ad-free on Stan Sport, and is likely to be shown by Channel 9 on 9Gem and 9Now.
