The 2024 Paris Olympics is fast approaching, with athletes from around the world in their final preparations before the 16-day extravaganza of sport begins.
Australia is once again hoping to be near the top of the medal charts, and will send well over 400 athletes in sports ranging from swimming, basketball, football and rugby sevens to name but a few.
It is one of the most popular sporting events in the world, and despite some of the events taking place in the early hours of the morning Australian time, millions will still be tuning in to the action.

The 2024 Olympics are being hosted in Paris, France, with the city hosting the games for a third time (the second city to do so after London).
Most of the events will take place in the city itself, but for some sports such as football and basketball, they will have some – if not all – games played in other French cities such as Lille and Marseille.
Despite the opening ceremony taking place on 26th July, the first events begin two days beforehand, with football, rugby sevens, archery and handball all beginning before the opening ceremony.
There will be no events on the day of the opening ceremony, whilst the last events are on the 11th July, the date of the closing ceremony.
