Cricket Australia has today announced the schedule for the inaugural T20 Spring Challenge, with the competition set to begin later this year.
The newly introduced T20 Spring Challenge will be played in a 10-day window across Sydney and Adelaide, creating an exciting build-up to the Weber WBBL season while increasing playing opportunities for domestic players.
This new competition will see the Sixers play matches against the ACT Meteors, Brisbane Heat, Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder, before the semi-finals and final both scheduled at Cricket Central.
Broadcast and streaming details for the T20 Spring Challenge will be confirmed ahead of the season.
Peter Roach, Cricket Australia’s Head of Cricket Operations & Scheduling, said:
“Elite domestic cricket is the backbone of Australian Cricket’s ongoing success, and this competition added on top of the already strong WNCL and WBBL competitions will allow more players the opportunity to gain top level experience and showcase their talents.”
