Justin Thomas has a funny, but fair request for walk-and-talk interviews – Australian Golf Digest

The walk-and-talk interview has become more common in recent years with various networks trying to make TV golf coverage more appealing to fans. Of course, they could just show more golf shots in between all those commercials, but getting a mic in front of (on would be better, but there’s been resistance to that) a player can really add something to the broadcast. If players are willing to participate, that is.

One such player is Justin Thomas. Even though the 15-time PGA Tour winner once took a nosedive after doing one at the 2023 Masters, he was willing to do it again during Thursday’s opening round of the 2025 PGA Tour season. Good man.

An early triple bogey came before JT’s chat with Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis so it can’t be blamed this time. But Thomas still had a funny, but fair request for doing these in the future.

“By the way, can we do this on a downhill hole the next time?” Thomas asks.

Seems reasonable! And Lewis agreed.

“Yeah, seriously,” he replied. “I’ve been asking our producer, Tommy Roy, the same thing.”

“Dang, Tommy,” Thomas added. “Throw us a bone!”
