Ahead of a decision about the news media bargaining code, due within weeks, Labor will on Monday announce plans to give the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission new powers to designate platforms that pose the greatest risk to competition for consumers and businesses. Designation of companies would establish which firms meet the threshold to be included in the competition laws.
