Crucial that we don’t have to watch Labuschagne bowling more short pitched rubbish in this test!
– Ian
I would like Marnus not to bowl seam up in this Test.
I don’t hate him having a go with his leg spinners as something a little different.
But nope to the seam up.
Happy Birthday Jasprit Bumrah
It’s Jasprit Bumrah’s 30th birthday today.
With the then 29-year-old ripping Australia apart in Perth, he must be hugely excited about how things are going to turn out today, with a pink ball that will likely move all over the place under lights later on.
Travis Head just told Seven that he’s “not too stressed” about facing Bumrah this Test, despite his obvious prowess.
“He looks to attack the stumps a lot. He uses the short ball. He doesn’t give you much to score off but I feel like if you are proactive around your feet and where will he mostly get you out, LB or caught behind. I try and concentrate on that, and react to everything.
“He is one of the
best, but he is another bowler, and it is the same old pink thing coming down at me. So I’m not too stressed.”
Head may rightly say that it’s the same ball coming down at him, but the way it comes down is very, very different.
Have a read on how the birthday boy’s action causes such problems.
What are the session times?
Hey mate when is the toss?
– Nick
Hi Nick.
The toss is at 2:30pm AEDT, so about 25 minutes.
When are the session times? Is the next natural question for this day-night Test?
Session 1 starts at 2:30pm local – (3:00pm AEDT).
Dinner is at 4:30pm until 5:10pm (5:00pm to 5:40pm AEDT)
Tea will be at 7:10pm until 7:30pm (7:40pm to 8:00pm).
Then the close of play will be 9:30pm (although let’s be honest, they won’t finish until 10:00pm due to the over rates (which is 10:30pm AEDT).
Boland is back
Before we get too bogged down with the toss and the build up to the Test, it might be worth remembering that Australia has made just one enforced change.
Scott Boland comes in for the injured Josh Hazlewood.
Sunil Gavaskar has said he’s looking forward to seeing Boland bowl.
“He will like to bowl with a ball that will move after pitching,” Gavaskar says on Channel 7.
“We have seen there is a fair bit of grass on the surface as well, I think he will be a different proposition.
“He has the height as well, like Josh Hazlewood had. So I think that’s a big blow as well that Hazlewood is not playing because he really bowled superbly.
“Before the series started,
I picked him as the man who have the most impact on the Australian side because he has the ability to get the ball to climb off a length and if he [Boland] can do that, he will be amongst the wickets.”
Boland has only played one Test at Adelaide Oval, he took 3-45 against the West Indies in 2022.
Hello everyone
Hello folks and welcome to the ABC Sport coverage of the second Test between Australia and India in this Border-Gavaskar series.
My name is Simon Smale and I’m in the hot seat to kick us off this afternoon, with Chris de Silva joining me on the ball-by-ball updates, while Dean Bilton will bring the analysis and Jon Healy will have his eye on everything else.
Needless to say, it is a pleasure to join you all and I am looking forward to what should be a fascinating Test under lights in Adelaide.
