Live: Greece take big lead over Australia in must-win clash for Boomers, Morrison and McIntyre add to Australia’s medal tally with bronze

Historic wins are always exciting, but they sting when they go against us.  Now, I want to go and check the record books, but I just heard someone say it’s the first win India have had over Australia at the Olympics since Munich in 1972!

It was blistering final five minutes, but India survived the assault by a desperate Kookaburras.

Blake Govers converted a penalty stroke goal in the 55th minute (taking his tournament goals to 7) to keep the Aussies in the match.

But, like we’ve been seeing all night, the defence of India held time and again.

Both teams advance to the quarter finals, where matchups are yet to be decided.
