Brisbane International set for a big day

Welcome to Brisbane, where the sun is doing its best to shine through the clouds on what is another hot and humid day in Brisbane.

Fans are going to be treated to something very special today.

On the main court right now, Aussies Priscilla Hon and Kimberly Birrell are locked in a terrific clash that’s going right down to the wire.

Shortly, Jordan Thompson will step up and take on tough Italian Matteo Berrettini.

Holger Rune is in action as well, out on court one and not before 4:30pm local time, but the real attention will be focused on Pat Rafter Arena from 6:30pm local, when Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios take their bromance to the next level by competing together in the doubles.

Should be a cracker – can’t wait to describe it to you all.

United Cup: British world number 125 makes solid start

Great start to the match in Sydney for British 29-year-old Billy Harris, who has taken the first set off Tomás Etcheverry 6-3.

Harris is a great story, a player who was travelling around Europe and sleeping in the back of his van attempting to make it to the big time.

In fact, entering the 2024 season, Harris had never climbed higher than world number 199.

But by September he came within a whisker of the top 100, peaking at 101.

Long way to go in this one, but he is one set away from giving Great Britain a 2-0 lead in the tie, after the soon to be Mrs de Minaur, Katie Boulter, beat Nadia Podoroska 6-2, 6-3.

United Cup: Tsitsipas struggling in Perth

Stefanos Tsitsipas is on the back foot in Greece’s United Cup tie against Kazakhstan in Perth.

Alexander Shevchenko claimed the opening set 6-4 for Kazakhstan and is up a break in the second to lead 1-0.

Tsitsipas needed a medical timeout early in the second set but returned to the court after the stoppage in play.
