It didn’t take long for Luke Travers to make his mark on the NBA G League, with the Australian product impressing in his debut game.
The 23-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft, and officially made the move to America ahead of the 2024/25 season, making his NBA debut earlier this month.
Currently on a Two-Way Deal that will see him play in both the NBA and G League, Travers has made the most of this opportunity, posting a whopping stat line in his first outing with the Cleveland Charge.

Travers recorded a monster double-double in the game, with 24 points and 10 rebounds, as well as six assists and a whopping five steals.
“It’s kind of what I expected [after] having a little taste of it in the NBA,” Travers said of his first taste of G League action.
“Playing my game was a big goal of mine, so to be able to go out there and do that is a big positive, but still a lot of room for improvement.
“A lot of people use the word, ‘deceptively,’ [to describe my athleticism]… it’s something I kind of surprised people about.”
Cleveland coach Chris Darnell sung the praises of his new Australian wing, saying Travers’ all-round ability makes him a truly special talent.
“He’s such a great passer,” Darnell said.
“He has size. He can see over the defense, so if he can get it and start the break now the defense is cross-matched in transition, and he’s a good decision-maker as well.”
