Marc Leishman out of LIV event due to painful and all-too-common ailment – Australian Golf Digest

Australian Marc Leishman was in a surprisingly jovial mood on social media considering his fate in this week’s LIV Golf-U.K. event. “I came to England with an appendix and will leave without it! Appendicitis is no joke,” Leishman posted on Saturday, smiling and laying in a hospital bed with his Ripper GC hat on.

Sure enough, after Leisman recorded a nice two-under-par 69 on Friday at JCB Golf and Country Club, he began to suffer the effects of appendicitis, and the organ was removed. “Disappointed to have to WD this week but health always comes first,” Leishman wrote.

A popular player and six-time winner on the PGA Tour before he moved to LIV in August 2022, Leishman, 40, had three top-10 finishes in 10 starts heading into this week. He matched his best LIV finish this past may with a second-place finish in Singapore.
