Mayo lead the pack with six players in Aussie rules this season

A record thirty-four Irish players will take the field this Australian Football League Women (AFLW) season with eighteen Irish counties represented. Mayo lead the pack with six players represented:

Naimh Kelly (Adelaide Crows), Dayna Finn (Carlton), Sarah Rowe (Collingwood), Rachel Kearns (Geelong Cats), Aileen Gilroy (Hawthorn) and Grace Kelly (St Kilda) will participate in this year’s competition.

The ALFW begins this weekend with eighteen teams battling it out to see who will reach the Grand Final on November 30.

TG4 will broadcast two matches deferred each weekend as well as weekly highlights as part of GAA 2024on Monday evenings at 8pm.
