The Blitz will once again draw the attention of the basketball world with representatives from 22 NBA teams flocking to the Gold Coast for their first look at this year’s crop of Next Stars and the impressive young talent.
Among the 25 scouts and executives attending the Blitz is Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks.
There will also be a strong NBA contingent at HoopsFest in Perth later this month, with some clubs electing to attend that event instead of the Blitz.
“All 30 NBA teams will have representatives visit Australia and New Zealand throughout NBL25, but it’s great to see so many keen to get an early look …” Head of Next Stars Recruitment Liam Santamaria said via ESPN.
Players on the radar of NBA teams will be Next Stars Karim López, Rocco Zikarsky, Alex Toohey, Izan Almansa and Malique Lewis, along with other highly touted youngsters including Taran Armstrong, Jaylin Galloway, Josh Bannan, Ben Henshall and others.
Last season’s Blitz attracted scouts who got their first look at the eventual number two draft pick Alex Sarr.
The Blitz begins this Saturday with a double-header of the Tasmania JackJumpers v Brisbane Bullets and Melbourne United v Cairns Taipans.
