The 2024 NBL Draft was littered with NBL talent, from the second overall pick in Alex Sarr to the last pick, Ariel Hukporti.
In total, four NBL Next Stars were taken in this year’s draft, with No. 23 pick AJ Johnson and No. 37 pick Bobi Klintman joining Sarr and Hukporti, while fellow Next Star Trentyn Flowers signed with the Clippers as an undrafted free agent following the Draft.
But things move fast in basketball, and the next crop of Next Star talent is already coming together, led by a player many consider to be the next big thing in Australian basketball – literally.

NBL Next Stars 2024-25 Tracker
So far, three players have signed on as new Next Stars for the upcoming NBL season, joining two existing players.
Brisbane’s Rocco Zikarsky is the headline act for this class, looking to back up a successful, yet limited first year with the Brisbane Bullets as he looks to inch closer to being a top 10 pick in the 2025 Draft.

Among the incoming class is Spanish big man Izan Almansa, as well as Trinidad and Tobago wing Malique Lewis.
There will also undoubtedly be a number of Draft prospects not officially signed as Next Stars, including Illawarra’s Lachlan Olbrich.
