Novak Djokovic intends to go “full throttle” next season and has revealed he plans to play an event ahead of the 2025 Australian Open.
Djokovic, 37, has played sparingly since winning Olympic gold for Serbia in the summer.
He also finished the season without a Grand Slam title for the first time since 2017 and without multiple titles for the first time since 2005.
However, it does not sound like he has any plans to follow great rival Rafael Nadal into retirement anytime soon.
“I am going to play in the first week of the season, I am just not sure yet where. Then, of course, Australian Open.”
Djokovic did not play ahead of this year’s Australian Open but in 2023 won Adelaide to start the season and then lifted the title in Melbourne.
His main goal for 2025 looks to be further Grand Slam success.
“I told you guys that a million times,” he commented.
“I would like to play the Davis Cup too, let’s see what happens.”
Djokovic is currently tied with Margaret Court for the most Grand Slam wins in history on 24.
Serbia will play in the Davis Cup qualifiers next year, with Djokovic potentially aiming to win the tournament for a second time.
Nadal is set to retire from tennis after playing for Spain at the Davis Cup Finals.
