Cummins excluded from AUS squad [X]
In a surprising move, Australia have left out Pat Cummins from their white-ball squad, which will tour the United Kingdom for a series against England and Scotland.
The tour is set to take place in September, and the Aussies will play both England and Scotland in gruelling ODI and T20I games. The Australian T20I team reflects the start of transition from the T20 World Cup group stage exit, as several new players have been given a chance.
Fraser-McGurk, who missed out on the T20 World Cup squad gets his well-earned call-up, and is directly looked as the successor of David Warner. Moreover, Perth Scorchers and Western Australian all-rounder, Cooper Connolly gets his maiden international call-up.
With Cummins absent from both the squads, Mitchell Marsh has been handed the captaincy duties. As per Cricket Australia, the Australian ODI captain, Cummins, has been given a well-deserved break ahead of the home Test summer.
The core of the ODI squad looks well settled, as Australia keep an eye on the Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place next year. Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell will also miss the T20Is, before returning for the ODI leg of the tour.
In the T20I squad, Australia have gone in with a new looked attack, comprising of Xavier Bartlett, and Spencer Johnson. All-rounder, Cameron Green and Aaron Hardie have also been added in the squad.
