Star Entertainment chairwoman Anne Ward failed to take any action to fix a dysfunctional management culture and was heavily involved in a confrontational missive sent to the regulator, a review commissioned by the NSW casino regulator has found.
The publication of the review on Friday was the conclusion of a long-running inquiry into whether Star should be allowed to operate a casino in Sydney. The company was found not to be suitable to hold a licence, although the author, Adam Bell, SC, stopped short of calling for the most drastic action he could have – the closure of the casino.
