There was only one thing more predictable than Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy winning the Crypto.com Showdown on Tuesday night in Las Vegas. And that would be that if the duo did win, Scottie wouldn’t understand what he just won.
Scheffler—everyone’s favorite 28-year-old golfer going on 48—capped a historic season with yet another win. And yet another pile of money. Only this time, it came on a hard drive. Or something like that. Truth be told, we still don’t really understand crypto, either.

But we didn’t just win a fortune in it like Scheffler did. For beating the LIV duo of Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka at Shadow Creek, the PGA Tour twosome will take home a combined $10 million in cryptocurrency from sponsor Crypto.com.
“I don’t know a lot about crypto,” Scheffler said when asked after about the prize. “But this gives me a lot of motivation to figure out what’s going on.”
Um, ya think?

But also in his defense, not many people had already made $63 MILLION in just on-course earnings entering Tuesday night’s event. So, yeah, this is getting to be old hat for Scottie. Even if he was getting paid in a new way.
In any event, Scottie has another $5 million at his disposal now. If he ever figures out how to access it, that is.
