Shane Lowry as Travis Kelce, a Finau family ‘Thriller’ and more of the best Halloween costumes from around golf – Australian Golf Digest

Halloween has come and gone, and in it’s a wake a trail of empty Reese’s wrappers, drooping silly string and incredible costumes to look back on. Though golf is a buttoned-up sport by day, each October 31st the world’s top pros go all out, and this year was no different. From an adorable Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift father-daughter costume to a Finau family rendition of “Thriller,” this is how the golf world celebrated Halloween 2024.

Shane Lowry led the way with this totally unexpected Travis Kelce costume with his daughter, seen here as Taylor Swift. We have no idea if Shane is a card-carrying member of Chiefs Kingdom, but his passing resemblance to Kelce—even if he does look more like Jason than Travis—really brings this one home.

Lowry was also joined on his trick-or-treating travails by fellow European Ryder Cuppers Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald, who went as Mario and a Chicago Cub (?) respectively. Rory’s costume would have been even better if Joey LaCava was around to go as Bowser, but beggars can’t be choosers.

Next up were the Sims-Koepkas, who dug deep into the pop-culture archive for this ‘Men in Black’-themed family costume, replete with the memory erasing pen/flashlight thingamabobs. 15-month-old Crew is absolute ROCKING that suit, and you can already tell he’s born to be a star just like his mom and dad.

Fresh off a win caddying for J.T. Poston at the Shriners Children’s Open this month, Aaron Flener and his girlfriend went as inmate number 00654436 and Officer Gillis. Thankfully Brooke opted for a skirt, because we’d hate to see another $80 pair of pants ruined.

Jason Day also enjoyed a Halloween heel turn, going as Evil Emperor Zurg from ‘Toy Story.’ It’s not quite as sinister as a professional golfer trying to drive to a professional golf tournament—at least in the eyes of the Louisville Police Department—but going as the only toy mean enough to destroy Buzz Lightyear is still dastardly.

Finally, the Finau family went over, above and beyond with this synchronized rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” with the PGA Tour patriarch serving as a pretty solid stand-in for the King of Pop. Finau said the costume was tribute to his late mother, who taught him the dance when he was just 10 years old.

Anyway, that just about does it for Halloween 2024. If you see any ghosts or goblins that we missed, send them our way. If not, we’ll see you next year. Same time. Same place.
