Sports stars hit the red carpet at Dally M Awards at Royal Randwick Racecourse
The Dally M awards are underway in Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse as the NRL and NRLW stars come together to celebrate the season ahead of this weekend’s grand final.
While the male players typically lead the fashion world in terms of most outlandish haircuts, tonight they’ll dusting off the tuxes and loafers.
Though, let’s be honest — we’re all here for the frocks more than anything.
Take a look at last year’s best and brightest get-ups here.

Pretty in pink: Tiana Penitani
Tiana Penitani of the Sharks looking incredible in a structured pink (our newsroom is divided on WHAT pink, is it blush pink, is it bubblegum?) strapless gown. Yes, yes, yes. (Getty images: Mark Metcalfe )
Brian To’o gives a lesson in chivalry
Fellas this is exactly how you enter a red carpet. No notes.

Miranda Cross all coquette
I’ve consulted the Gen Z team members and can confirm Miranda Cross’s dress is what the kids are calling “coquette.” Cameron Murray’s coquettte scale is yet to be confirmed. (Getty: Mark Metcalfe )
This might also be coquette? Can a teenager please confirm?
To be honest, I’m not really sure what “coquette” is and I’m too scared to ask if Jahrome Hughes or Molly Hughes are dressed that way. (Getty: Mark Metcalfe )
Vessa Cherry-Evans by name, strawberry by dress
A missed opportunity by Daly and Vessa Cherry-Evans, but they both still look fabulous. (Getty: Mark Metcalfe )
Kezie Apps in a corsetted gown
Kezie Apps of the Wests Tigers might be the best dressed thus far. A boned corset with a flouncey skirt, and while red seems to be the colour of the night, Kezie has got a gothic twist on it. (Getty images: Mark Metcalfe )
No really, this is incredible.
The Fonua-Blakes add some colour
FINALLY, we see some fashion from one of the fellas with this stunning coordinated ensemble.

Maria Tedesco’s blue vibes

Isabelle Kelly dazzles in gold
She rocked a neon pink frock last year, and so our high expectations were met with this get-up from Isabelle Kelly of the Roosters.
I’m going to be honest here: Isabelle Kelly’s dress does not look comfortable but boy does it make for some high-fashion style. A dazzling gold wrap-around dress is exactly what we want to see tonight. She’s here with husband Jake Callister. (Getty Images: Mark Metcalfe )
Millie Elliott in a two-piece
Millie Elliott of the Roosters rocks the two-piece style in a timeless elegant look. (Getty Images: Mark Metcalfe )
Simaima Taufa’s off-the-shoulder moment

Baby bumps on show

It’s a sparkle-off
Who was shinier?
Eels player Zali Fay was like you know what this dress is missing? A little white chicken. Now the outfit is complete. (Getty: Mark Metcalfe )
Titans winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira shows off a sparkly diva. (Getty: Mark Metcalfe )
White for the night

Cooper Johns in Beetlejuice-style attire

Ladies in red
It looks like we have our favourite colour of the evening. And thankfully the red carpet isn’t red, so these dresses can truly sing.

Remember at the Golden Globes earlier this year, when it seemed like EVERYONE was in red? Tara Rushton saw it, loved it, rocked it, here with Cooper Cronk. (Getty images: Mark Metcalfe )
Mahalia Murphy of the Eels also favouring the dazzle of a red dress. (Getty images: Mark Metcalfe )

Babes dressed in black
I need Jaime Chapman’s leg day routine because those quads are amazing, no wonder she picked a dress to show them off. (Getty: Mark Metcalfe )

Another of Kezie, because her frock is that good
So good, Kezie wins the fashion award. (AAP: Mark Evans )
