Tennis legend, Olympic golden girls to lead Open coverage

Tennis legend John McEnroe and Olympic gold medalists Jessica Fox and Ariane Titmus will spearhead Nine’s on-air team for the Australian Open.

McEnroe will provide expert commentary alongside Jim Courier, Jelena Dokic, John McEnroe, Todd Woodbridge, Lleyton Hewitt, Sam Stosur, Dylan Alcott, John Millman, Casey Dellacqua, Sam Smith and Alicia Molik.

Fresh off their Paris successes, Titmus and Fox will join Nine’s Marlee Silva in providing colour presentations throughout the two-week event.

On hosting duties on Channel 9 will be James Bracey, Roz Jelly and Tony Jones, while Silvia Jeffreys, Nick McArdle and Brett Phillips will be anchors on Gem.

Leading sports reporters Clint Stanaway and Danika Mason will also provide off-court news updates. Callers Brenton Speed and Peter Psaltis will be in the commentary box.

The opening week of the tournament will be highlighted by A Night with Novak from Rod Laver Arena on Thursday from 7.30pm (AEDT).

Tennis fans will be able to watch every point of every match at any time live and free on 9Now, as well as match highlights, AO Daily Top Moments compilations and the AO Morning Serve show.

9Now will also have every match of the juniors and wheelchair events.

For the first time, 9Now will also broadcast the junior wheelchair, APAC elite 14 and under, deaf championships, and intellectual disability championships.

Stan Sport will have every match ad-free, live and on demand with centre court in 4K.

Australian Open main draw action begins on Sunday, with the finals to be played over the weekend of January 25 and 26.
