The Everest 2024: Date, start time, barrier draw, field, betting odds, prize money, tickets | Sporting News Australia

The world’s richest race on turf returns for another edition this weekend, with the running of the $20 million TAB Everest at Royal Randwick.

It’s quite a relatively open field in 2024 – last year’s runner-up ‘I Wish I Win’  could start as favourite but is currently joined by a handful of other horses at single-digit odds.

Here’s what you need to know about The Everest 2024.

When is The Everest 2024? Date, start time

The Everest is scheduled for Saturday, October 19

As the seventh race of a 10-race card at Randwick, The Everest is likely to begin around 4:15 pm AEDT, although an official start time has not been declared.

Where is The Everest held?

The Everest will again be run at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney’s east.

The track is roughly six kilometres from the Sydney CBD and is one of the city’s most iconic racing venues.

Typically, investors pay $600,000 in advance before finding a horse to fill the slot. Only 12 horses may enter the race.

Despite being one of the biggest races of the year, The Everest is not classed as a Group 1.
