A few days ago, The Used‘s Instagram went dark. Facebook ads began circulating, putting Australian fans on stand-by for a big announcement. This weekend, posters appeared at Good Things Festival, confirming a tour in August and September. And then, in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning, we finally had the big reveal – and it’s an absolute banger.
Emo icons The Used are hitting a massive milestone next year, celebrating 25 years of making us feel stuff. To mark the occasion, they’ve announced a huge world tour – and, for once, “world tour” includes Australia straight off the bat. (And, not just the east coast cities either!)
But they won’t just be hitting our cities for one night only. Instead, they’ll play three nights in each location, with each night dedicated to covering one of their first three albums. It’ll go chronologically, starting with self-titled debut The Used (expect “Taste of Ink”, “Buried Myself Alive”, and “Blue and Yellow”), before taking us back to 2004 with In Love and Death (“Take It Away”, “I Caught Fire”, “All That I’ve Got”). Finally, they’ll wrap up their residencies with Lies for the Liars (“Pretty Handsome Awkward” and “The Bird and the Worm”).
