Wages start at $31.85 per hour for processing roles such as mail officer and parcel sorter.
Licensed roles such as forklift driver, van and truck drivers will earn $35.67 per hour.
Australia Post said the roles will include a casual loading and some jobs may attract additional penalties for overtime, evening and weekend work.
The company also pays an addition 12 per cent superannuation.
Australia Post executive general manager, People and Culture, Sue Davies said some workers may continue to work for Australia Post beyond the seasonal period if there are positions available.
“Joining our team not only provides the opportunity to be a part of a supportive and dynamic environment but also allows you to earn extra money and to spread the merry this Christmas,” Davies said.
“Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year.
“We have many team members who started as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.”
