Three Women World Leaders Keynote Australian Public Sector Summit




In an Australian first, The Hatchery’s August Public Sector Women in Leadership Summit features keynote sessions from three former women world leaders in six cities across Australia.

Building on their previous summit with Hillary Rodham Clinton as a keynote speaker and attracting an impressive 1,200 public sector leaders, this August The Hatchery brings three former prime ministers to share their journeys and insights on leadership at the highest level.

Running on the 24th & 25th August in Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, The Hatchery’s Public Sector Women in Leadership Summit continues their partnership with the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and presents an extraordinary program featuring:

  • The Hon. Julia Gillard AC, the first and only woman to serve as Prime Minister of Australia
  • The Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP, the second female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
  • The Rt. Hon. Helen Clark, the first elected Prime Minister of New Zealand.

The theme of the summit is connecting, elevating and amplifying women in leadership, focussing on empowering current and aspiring female leaders.  With the three international leaders having 120 years of combined experience in the public sector and leadership, these remarkable women will share their stories and journeys, igniting inspiration in current and emerging women leaders.

Alongside the international keynotes, two current and one former State Premier will also be speaking at their respective summits.

The Canberra summit also features an esteemed lineup of Public Sector leaders, including:

  • Nerida O’Loughlin, Chair & Agency Head of the Australian Communications & Media Authority
  • Vonda Malone, the first female Mayor of the Torres Shire Council and CEO of the Torres Strait Regional Authority
  • Rebecca Skinner PSM, former CEO of Services Australia

Award-winning journalist Leigh Sales will also share her extensive experience in shaping messages, crafting questions and how stories can change the world.

The agenda also includes panel discussions, case studies and workshops tackling gender equality in the workplace and addresses important health issues such as menopause and endometriosis that are affecting the careers of many women, as well as the importance of allyship in the leadership journey.

The August Canberra summit will also introduce the inaugural Leadership, Excellence and Distinction awards to celebrate outstanding achievement in inclusive excellence and outstanding intersectional work.  A gala dinner is part of the summit and submissions for outstanding achievement at the individual, team and organisational level are open until 5th July.
