ROOS, EAGLES OPEN TO OFFERS FOR TOP PICKS
This year’s lowly-ranked North Melbourne and West Coast are reportedly open to the idea of parting ways with their high draft picks.
The Kangaroos and Eagles currently hold pick 2 and 3 respectively, but are each willing to part ways with them if the right deal comes along.
AFL Media’s Callum Twomey reports that North are open to moving slightly further down the draft order, if it acquires them a first-round pick in next year’s draft and a pick still in the top 10 this year.
As Alastair Clarkson’s club also negotiate the potential recruiting of Power star Dan Houston, it would make sense for the Roos to re-jig their draft capital in a way that gives them even more flexibility.
Out west, the Eagles are still working out the best method to acquire Richmond’s Liam Baker, and similarly to North, that may be in the form of splitting their first pick of the draft while still being able to select a top prospect.
Twomey flagged Gold Coast and Hawthorn as two of four clubs that could be looking to get involved, as they themselves juggle the impending arrival of Daniel Rioli (Suns) and Tom Barrass (Hawks) this off-season.
And with the Saints (pick 8) and Giants (picks 16 and 21) receiving their generous compensation picks for departing free agents, the two sides would now also be well-equipped to enter dealings with the Roos and Eagles.

CROWS RECRUITS’ VALUE REVEALED
Adelaide will reportedly part ways with second round picks in the national draft this year and next to land Melbourne’s Alex Neal-Bullen and GWS’ James Peatling.
AFL Media’s Callum Twomey has revealed that the Crows’ pick 28 for this year looks likely to be sent the way of Melbourne for the departing Neal-Bullen, who is returning to his home state for family reasons.
Such is the seeming simplicity of the deal, Twomey added it could be one of the first deals done once the trade period begins on Monday morning.
With their only second-round pick of this draft now all but certainly attached to the Demons gun, the Crows will likely need to look to the future to rope James Peatling out of western Sydney and into West Lakes.
Their 2025 second-round pick looks a more appropriate price to pay then using one of picks 45 and 63 in this year’s draft.
If successful, Peatling would join former Giants teammate Isaac Cumming in Adelaide – who successfully moved as a free agent to the club on Friday.
Twomey reports that Peatling will be on a four-year deal at the Crows, an offer much greater than most clubs in the race for the 2021 mid-season draftee.
