Screen Tasmania is committed to growing the skills of local practitioners.
Through its Industry Development training program, there are three types of on-the-job paid opportunities available across professional productions.
Productions wanting to film in Tasmania with support from the Production Support Program will be encouraged to employ one or more of the following opportunities:
Positions can be in linear scripted and unscripted / documentary productions such as film, television, online or in games development.
The opportunities can be in either ‘above’ or ‘below’ the line roles, although preference will be given to positions that are identified to be in critical shortage in the industry. Above the Line roles or ‘key creatives’ refers to the personnel responsible for the creative shape of the project such as producers, writers, and directors; in games development, it refers to leads in the areas of production, design, art and programming.
The technicians and crew who make the show are considered Below the Line.
