Two security guards have been injured in a wild stabbing at a Melbourne shopping centre.
They were allegedly attacked by a man armed with a broken soy sauce bottle at Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre in Mulgrave about 2pm on Wednesday.
“It is alleged the man stabbed two people before he was apprehended by witnesses until police arrived,” Victoria Police said.

The guards – two men aged 62 and 35 – suffered minor injuries.
The older man was taken to hospital for treatment, while the younger man was treated at the scene.
A man aged in his 30s was taken into custody at the shopping centre after witnesses stepped in to help, making a citizen’s arrest.
They held the suspect for up to 15 minutes before police could take over.
Witnesses said the man was yelling obscenities near a play area and guards tried to move the man on.
“(I’m a) bit shaken up because it was worrying that something like this could happen again,” one witness told 7NEWS.
The man remains in custody on Wednesday evening and no charges have been laid.
The shopping centre remained open during and after the terrifying incident.
