Victoria’s rising stars, Novak Palombo and Raphael Savelli, have emerged as singles champions, while Ana Maric finished as runner-up at the 2024 12/u and 14/u Australian Junior Hardcourt Championships in West Lakes, Adelaide.
In the boys’ singles final, third seed Raphael Savelli triumphed over seventh seed Lachlan Rye (Qld), who had to retire after losing the first set.
Top-seeded Novak Palombo lived up to expectations with straight-sets victories in the 12/u finals.
Cleo Taylor (Qld) claimed the title with a 7-5, 6-1 win over second seed Ana Maric, while Palombo secured his second national title by defeating Aleksandr Kharkov (NSW) 6-1, 6-2.
“The level of junior talent this year was outstanding,” said Tournament Director David Boyes.
“We extend our congratulations to all the players for their hard work and dedication, and our thanks to West Lakes Tennis Club for hosting this prestigious event at such a fantastic venue,” Boyes added.
The finals capped off a week-long tournament that brought together 34 junior Victorian players to compete for national titles. Congratulations to all our Victorian players for their outstanding efforts throughout the tournament, helping to shape the bright future of tennis in Victoria.
