Perth Stadium put on an exhilarating West Test Show during the first test match of the summer, with our WA Cricket blasters, junior crickets and volunteers getting the exciting chance to be close to the action.
Across the four days of cricket, WA Cricket saw 22 Anthem kids, giant flag bearers, junior flag bearers, volunteers and cricket blast kids take part in delivering the world class match between Australia and India.
Participants came from far and wide across the state, with children and their families travelling from Esperance, Port Headland and everywhere in between.
Throughout day one and two, 190 participants from the metropolitan area took part with day three seeing 110 participants from the country descend on Optus Stadium across the range of activities.
All the participants and their local clubs were offered the chance to be part of the match due to their outstanding club programs.
A special shoutout to the children who participated in the anthem, who were chosen from a local club who is currently running their first Cricket Blast program and who has previously supported WA Cricket’s funded program to help build their club in Piara Waters.
Congratulations to all who participated, and we can’t wait to see you take part again when Australia take on England during the Ashes next summer.
