In a recent episode of season 3 of ‘The Test’ documentary, Australian captain Pat Cummins and his fellow teammate confessed they were threatened by Indian stalwart Virat Kohli during India’s 444 runs chase in the World Test championship finals.

Australian cricket team led by Pat Cummins became the first ever full member nation to clinch all three ICC trophies when they beat India by 209 runs during the World Test championship finals held at The Oval in 2023.

However, despite being in the driver’s seat for almost half of the game, the Aussies essentially felt threatened by Virat Kohli.

The latest episode of ‘The Test’ just dropped, in which Aussies are seen discussing the events of the WTC finals.

In a segment, captain Pat Cummins, spinner Nathan Lyon and batter Steve Smith confessed that at some stage, when Virat Kohli was building a partnership with Ajinkya Rahane on Day 4, the team felt threatened and nervousness creeped in.

Cummins added that Kohli has made a name for himself as one of the best chase masters in the world. And despite the target being 444 runs, the team was worried about Kohli and feared that he would take to turn the momentum in India’s favour and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He’s a killer

Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane stitched an 86 runs partnership after Cheteshwar Pujara’s wicket and entered Day 5 with still over 300 runs left to chase,

However, just when Virat Kohli started to build pressure, Scott Boland had the last laugh as a terrific catch from Steve Smith ended Kohli’s 49-run resistance, and subsequently, the Australian went on to win the contest by 208 runs to become the ultimate Test champions.
