Australia could have another rising tennis star ready to emerge, with Cruz Hewitt set to play in the 2025 Australian Open qualifying.
The son of Aussie tennis icon Lleyton Hewitt, Cruz will attempt to qualify for his maiden Australian Open, when he goes up against fellow hopefuls all seeking a Grand Slam berth.
Hewitt, an AO25 qualifying wildcard, will face a tough test in his first match, taking on a former World No. 19, one of three opponents he will need to defeat in order to make the first round of the main draw.
