What are friends for? Support? Camaraderie? Helping you move into a fourth-floor walk-up on a sweltering July day? Think again. Ask anyone about their golf buddies, and they’ll tell you friends exist for one reason and one reason only:

To roast or be roasted.

Same goes for the World No. 1 apparently.

On Tuesday, 2024 PGA champion Xander Schauffele joined Pardon My Take to discuss his big win at Valhalla. Of course, the subject of Scottie Scheffler’s headline-dominating arrest came up, and while Schauffele expressed support for his fellow player, he also revealed that his group chat with Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler and a few others made sure to rib the reigning Masters champ for his run in with the law.

Schauffele said he and the boys heckled Scheffler “just enough,” but not just with words. According to Schauffele, the chat had a bit of fun with Scheffler’s instantly iconic mug shot as well.

“You gotta change the picture of that group chat to the mug shot,” said host PFT Commenter.

“Obviously that happened,” replied Schauffele smiling.

Hilarious (and very relatable) stuff. Luckily, most of us don’t have a mug shot to be trolled with, but we can all relate to the boys doing a little friendly blackmailing with a cringey picture or story. Schauffele’s amusing anecdote about Scheffler’s legal troubles does raise one question, however:

With friends like these, who needs enemies?
