Jordan Spieth might not be competing this week at The Sentry, the opening event of the 2025 PGA Tour season, but his caddie is. Michael Greller, Spieth’s looper for his entire professional career, will be working at the Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui, picking up the bag Max Homa.
Mind you, this appears to be one-time gig for Greller, as first reported by PGATour.com’s Sean Martin. Spieth did not qualify for the signature event, failing to win in 2024 or finish in the top 50 on the FedEx Cup points list after suffering an injury to the ulnar nerve on his left wrist that required surgery in August. Spieth has yet to announce when he will make his 2025 return.
Meanwhile, Homa is happy with his regular caddie, Joe Griener, who is expected to be back at work when Homa makes his next start on the West Coast.

It’s just temporary.
Greller’s boss, Jordan Spieth, isn’t in the field and Homa needed a temporary fill-in. His longtime caddie, Joe Greiner, is expected to return later in the West Coast swing.

There does appear to be more news coming from the Homa camp this week in Hawaii. On Monday, the six-time PGA Tour winner gave a clinic in Hawaii without any logos on his apparel. Early January is when several new apparel and equipment contracts kick in, suggesting that might be the case for Homa.
